Angelina Jolie has always been seen in the news for her charity and for her involvements in various social causes. This time again Angelina Jolie has decided to fight against sexual violence that happens in war zones. Jolie said that she was sad to see that rape is being used as a weapon in various war zones around the world and it was the same thought that provoked her to write her first film In the Land of Blood and Honey which would inspire viewers to think about how rape is used as a weapon in war zones.
Angelina who serves as special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees spoke at the special screening event at the UN University of Tokyo combined with a campaign that has been launched with British Foreign Secretary William Hague. She said that she hopes that the film inspires many Japanese people to think of future and how the problem of rape can affect everybody around the world. Although, Jolie did not commented on the sexual problems in Japan but politically Japan is still no stranger to sexual crimes and violence that are happening around the country. Jolie said that she needs more leaders to come together to fight this battle with her.
